No more knot-so-good hair days
I've tested just about every detangler, leave-in conditioner, and so-called "miracle spray" on the market, and most of them either leave hair feeling like a greasy disaster, smell like an artificial sugar bomb, or—let’s be honest—do not work whatsoever. But then, I found the one.
Honest Vanilla Citrus Detangler Spray.
And let me tell you, I was not ready for how much I was about to fall in love with a hair product.
(Not an easy task, considering I went to cosmetology school and have very high expectations for anything that goes in my—or anyone else’s—hair.)
First off, let’s talk ingredients, because honestly, that’s what sets this stuff apart. The list is stacked with good things like argan oil, shea butter, jojoba protein, and quinoa extract—basically a superfood smoothie for your hair.
It’s cruelty-free, vegan, dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic, and made without a laundry list of sketchy chemicals (no parabens, silicones, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, dyes—you get the idea).
So, in my brutally honest opinion, this is the kind of product you want to be spraying on your kid’s head (or your own, because let’s be real, we’re all using it too).
Now, onto the scents, because if a hair product smells bad, I don’t care how well it works—I’m not using it.
Thankfully, Honest gives us options. This detangler comes in Vanilla Citrus (which, spoiler alert, I love), Sweet Cream, Sweet Almond, and Lavender, plus a fragrance-free option for those who like to keep things neutral. Honestly, I might just have to try them all at this point.
Now, let’s get into why I bought this in the first place: my daughter is absolutely stunning but has completely untamable curls. Brushing her hair after a shower is like trying to comb a wig on a rollercoaster—chaotic, frustrating, and full of unexpected twists.
HA!
It’s a whole event. So, I grabbed my $6.99 bottle from Thrive Market (because I refuse to pay $11.70 at Walmart when Amazon has a 3-pack for $20.25—hello, best deal!) and went to work.
Her hair was so wet, I had to towel-dry it twice (because kids don’t do “damp”; it’s pretty much always sopping wet), and then I started spraying.
Y’all.
This stuff didn’t just detangle—it melted through the knots. The brush practically glided through like some kind of hair wizardry. No screaming, no fighting, just smooth, tangle-free curls. It was a parenting win and those don’t come easy.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, I tested it on my own hair. Let’s just say, the Vanilla Citrus scent is one I would 100% wear as a perfume. My husband? Huge fan. And function-wise? It works damn well.
So, if you’re tired of fighting with tangles, dealing with flyaways, or wrestling a toddler every time a hairbrush appears, get this spray. I will be repurchasing it again and again because, to be brutally honest, I cannot live without this product.
IMBHO? It’s an Honest YES from me!
