Sweet, Sour, and Gone in 5 Minutes
I love freeze-dried fruit. Like, irrationally adore it.
The crunch, the flavor, the fake-out feeling that I'm eating candy while still technically making a healthy decision? Sign me up.
But let's not lie to each other—freeze-dried fruit is basically the Chanel of the snack world.
Delicious? Yes.
Affordable? Not even a little bit.
So when I saw Natierra's Organic Freeze-Dried Pineapple for $7.29 on Thrive Market (and a painful $9.33 on Amazon), I winced, took a deep breath, and clicked "add to cart" like the grown-up I pretend to be.
Let's talk about first impressions. The pouch is easy to open (a minor miracle in a world where half my snacks require scissors, rage, or both). It's a rip-top with a ziplock, which means you could eat some and save the rest for later. Emphasis on could. I personally inhaled the entire bag in five minutes flat, as if it were my last meal on earth.
No regrets.
The smell? Amazing. Like a tropical vacation, I wish I could afford it. It's fresh, juicy, and has that sweet, tangy flavor that hits your senses in the best way. Each little bite is a crunchy burst of pineapple sunshine—sweet, sour, and totally addictive.
Natierra's freeze-dried pineapple is crisp, tart, and a little wild—just like my mood when I've had three sips of coffee and my kids ask what's for dinner at 9:00 AM. It's got that zing that makes your mouth pucker a bit, and I was definitely into it. Sweet and sour, as if a pineapple went through a personality crisis and came out stronger for it.
Nutritionally, it's solid. You're getting 33g of natural sugar (no added nonsense), 1g of fiber, 1g of protein, and a solid 170 calories per bag. It's also vegan, organic, plant-based, non-GMO, and all the other green checkmark things that make my inner label reader do a happy dance.
The fruit is grown in Costa Rica and Colombia and packed in the USA, which feels vital if you're like me and like knowing where your food comes from.
Bonus: it's a single-ingredient snack. No preservatives, no weird powders, no mystery science dust. Just pineapple living its best life.
My only complaint? The bag is tiny. Like, blink-and-it's-empty tiny. It claims to be made from 9.6 oz of fresh pineapple, but my snack instincts tell me it's gone way too fast for that to be true. Natierra, I love you, but please give us a bigger size before I start hoarding these like toilet paper in 2020.
Final verdict: Would I repurchase it? Absolutely. Would I hide it from my kids? Also yes. It's the perfect "treat yourself" snack for moms who need a moment, a mouthful of sunshine, and a reason to put off the laundry for a little longer.
IMBHell-YES, I don't even care about the price.
