When I opened the package, I was drawn in by the smell of a really good sugar cookie with caramel overtones. When I pulled it from the package, the granulated sugar on top sparkled and made me want to take a bite.

It’s hard to get a decent cookie that has the right texture and flavor, but the Phenomenal Pumpkin Spice cookie from the Alternative Baking Company has done just that.

These are plant-based Keto bars; it’s always tough to find good snacking items that fit this eating lifestyle. Each bar has 5 grams of net carbs and 9 grams of protein, but that’s where the positives end.

Claims include gluten free, vegan, fair trade, sustainable ingredients, nothing artificial, and non-GMO. It’s a pumped-up list of claims, which made me wonder if these peanut butter cups could stand up to the hype.
